JAMIE SHROY, MATT HOWARD, NIKKI PENNA
Coaches
Jamie Shroy, Matt Howard, and Nikki Penna make up the coaching staff for the Villanova Cheerleading Program. Head Coach, Jamie Shroy, attended Temple University, and was a member of their cheerleading squad. Matt Howard is A VU Cheer alum himself, and graduated 2013 from Villanova University. Matt is head coach for the 'Blue' squad, or coed team. Nikki Penna is Assistant Coach for the program, specializing in gameday and nationals performances. Nikki has formerly coached local high school teams, and serves as Mascot coordinator for the VU Cheerleading Program.
WHITE TEAM
All-Girl Squad
Villanova Cheerleading is composed of two separate teams. The White Team is an all-girl team, made up of four partner-four stunt groups. All pyramids, stunts, and baskets performed on this team are executed solely by girls.Â
This team cheers for all football games, as well as selected basketball games. Members of this team participate on the mat for the nationals competition.
BLUE TEAM
Co-Ed Squad
The Blue Team is a coed team, with four boys and thier female partners, as well as three all-girl stunt groups. The pyramids performed on this team take on a different approach as they incorporate coed style stunts.
